The impossible view is the view from above. It is the view of our homes within the city, the view of the city upon the terrain, the view of the terrain on the Earth. The existence and availability of the impossible view has fundamentally changed the way in which we study human habitats, placing them into the context of the planet and showing the relationships between them.
In college, I took New Perspectives on the Global City through a cross-registration at Wellesley College. For my final project in the class, I wrote a paper exploring the relationship between perspective and the human environment, and looking at how that relationship has fundamentally changed over the course of the last century.
